Message from the District 1 International Director Kim Hazarvartian
As my term begins, the role of the transportation
profession is as critical as ever. Our profession keeps working in the
classic areas of safety and efficiency, as well as topics newer to the forefront
such as intelligent transportation, neighborhood traffic quality and
transportation security, to name just a few. Indeed, ITE International and
District One are healthy, vibrant and doing an outstanding job of meeting the
needs of the profession. I look forward to helping ITE and its members
move ahead! ITE International Board Representative from District 1 Kim Eric Hazarvartian, FITE, is Principal of TEPP LLC, a transportation engineering, planning and policy firm, in Concord, New Hampshire and North Andover, Massachusetts. He has experience since 1981 in the private, government and academic sectors, and is a Professional Engineer and Professional Traffic Operations Engineer. His degrees are Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Master of Science in Civil Engineering, transportation major, both from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, and Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering, transportation program, from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He has served as Chairman of District One, President of the New England Section and President of the New Hampshire Chapter, and has received the district’s Harvey B. Boutwell Distinguished Service Award and the section’s Distinguished Service Award. He is a member of the New England Section Technical Committee and ITE Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont chapters. He is also with the American Society of Civil Engineers, Transportation Research Board, Society of American Military Engineers and Chi Epsilon.
